This icon is created using the traditional Byzantine technique, beginning with the careful preparation of the wooden panel with linen and gesso. The gesso is made from natural rabbit skin glue mixed with chalk and zinc white, forming a durable and refined painting surface.

The icon is then carefully rendered using the demanding egg tempera technique of the Cretan School, a method that has been preserved for centuries and is known for its precision, depth, and spiritual clarity.
